  16. One cause of the civil war was that in 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated by a Serbian nationalist in Sarajevo, Bosnia. In the beginning, it was fought by Germany, Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire vs. Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy and Japan. One effect of the war was that more than 9 million soldiers had been killed and 21 million wounded. A surprising effect of the war is that during the war many women joined the working
forces. Those who worked with TNT saw their skin turn yellow as a result, as they suffered from toxic jaundice, a hepatitis caused by toxic chemicals.

Cause - Austro-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gervio Pricip who was a Serbian Nationalist and a member of the Serbian terroist group "Black Hand"
      Effect - New Technologies
Country - (I almost said "Europe" then realized Europe ain't a country) One country in WWI was Germany. This country was blamed for the war during the Treaty of Versailles, but this was harsh considering Germany only took part in the War because they had an alliance with Italy and Austria-Hungary.

  41. There were many causes & effects of WW1 such as imperialism, nationalism, and militarism. Personally, I think the main cause of WW1 was the assassination of Austro-Hungarian Archduke Franz Ferdinand. He was assassinated by Gervio Pricip, a serbian nationalist and a member of the terrorist group known as "Black Hand". In my opinion, I believe the main effect was new technologies such as machine guns, zeppelin (blimp), trench warfare, poison gas, airplanes, U-Boats (submarines), and tanks. Some countries that were involved were Russia, Germany, France, Great Britain, America, Japan, and Italy.
