WWII

Use what you know about WWII and write at least 3 sentences explaining how WWII could have been avoided. If you think the war was necessary explain your answer as well.

  1. WW2 could've been avoided if crazy dictators such as Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini hadn't ever become dictators. It seems like Adolf Hitler WANTED to start a war, but violence is never the answer. Fascism and communism were also major causes of WW2, so it would've helped if Benito Mussolini hadn't have become "The Father of Fascism".

    1. I totally agree about "The Crazy Dictators"! But didn't Hitler become a dictator because Germany wanted war because of the Treaty of Versailles? ┌( ಠ‿ಠ)┘

  2. It could not have been avoided. The dictator of Germany Adolf Hitler invaded Poland in 1939 for almost no reason. Japan invaded Asia for no reason besides expanding to get resources. The dictators of the Axis would invade for almost nothing maybe if the dictators were never there the war would have never happened. After the war Germany was in worse debt then the first world war. The country even split up into east Germany and west Germany one being communist and the other not. So if the war never stated Germany maybe could have regained their money and became a normal country.

  5. I believe that WW2 could have easily been avoided if the Tready of Versallies didn't blame everything on Germany. Also, if the three dictator were never dictators the war would probably not be world wide. The rise of fascism and communism was also unnecessary.

  6. Fascism and communism were a reason. If there wasn't dictators that thought they could do anything they want. If Japan didn't go crazy and start invading china which resulted in the U.S stopping trade with them then they got mad and bombed Pearl Harbor then the U.S declared war with Japan.

  7. I think WW2 could be avoided by Japan, because Japan was mad at the US for taking away there resources. By booming Pearl Harbor Japan thought that doing an attack at night would be easier because they can catch the guards off guard.

  9. World War II could have been avoided if
-Adolf Hitler wasn't around or born
    - Benito Mussolini hadn't invented Fascism
-There wasn't so much nationalism, imperialism, and militarism.
And I don't think the war was needed because Germany could have just asked for what they wanted and that Japan could have tried to trade with other countries and for Italy to just ask for what they wanted to. And not so many people would have died and other countries wouldn't have to had rebuild many cities.

  22. If the Treaty of Versailles didn't treat Germany so poorly and made them take the blame of starting WWI, a lot of things would have changed. Hitler wouldn't be able to be the dictator of Germany if the Treaty of Versailles didn't make Germany pay war expenses because Germans wanted to stop paying. If there was nothing to pay, Hitler couldn't gain control. If the Japanese dictator, Michinomiya Hirohito, hadn't wanted to expand to other lands and attack China, there wouldn't be a problem between us. He did though, so the U.S stopped trading with Japan, which was a mistake, and caused shortages in natural resources. After that happened Japan bombed Pearl Harbor which stopped the U.S's isolationism. Therefore, there were many ways WWI could've been stopped.

  28. I think the war could have definitely avoided at many different points of history.
1, we could of gone a little bit easier on Germany during the whole Treaty of Versailles thing. I mean, Germany's allies caused a whole lot of destruction, and that would have made Germany a bit less mad.
2, going hand in hand with one, after the Treaty of V. was signed, we and all the other countries should have checked in on Germany from time to time. We should have known Germany would want revenge, and would be looking for a leader who would give them it.
3, we should have paid attention when Germany began to take over land instead of moaning about our awful lives. This would have at least shortened the war.

    1. Maybe instead of going completely ham with the Treaty of Versailles we could have not been soooooooooooooo harsh.
    2. We could have joined League of Nations and as soon as Hitler started doing some shady things we could have done what the United Nations would have done today and put a stop to it.
    3. Instead of letting Germany, Japan, and Italy do whatever they want at the beginning of the war we could have said, "No, no." and put a stop to it before it got worse.

  42. WWII could have definitely been avoided. If Adolf Hitler hadn't took control of Germany and the Germans, then WWII probably could've been avoided all together. Hitler's idea was that Germans were, "the master race" and that the Jewish were, "tainting the world" which is completely unrealistic and foolish. He said that "true" people had blond hair and blue eyes, even though he, himself, had brown hair. Hitler was the one that "riled" everyone up by attacking neutral countries, which was completely uncalled for. Hitler was such a coward, he committed suicide just as he was about to be captured and taken to court. I loathe Hitler.
